CATHOLIC PRAYERS
Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Priest: In the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
Priest and People: O Lord Jesus Christ, | who hast promised | that whereever two or three | shall be gathered together in Thy Name | Thou will be there in the midst of them, | look down with love and compassion upon us | who are assembled before Thee, | to honor Thy Sacred Heart | and to make It known and loved by all. | Come into the midst of us, | O Sweet Jesus; | fill our hearts with Thy blessings | and inflame them with Thy love.
Priest: O Jesus, answer our petitions as we kneel before Thee.
People: O Heart of Jesus, hear and grant our prayers.
Priest and People: O Lord Jesus Christ, | who hast said: | “Ask and you shall receive, | seek and you shall find, | knock and it shall be opened unto you”; | grant, we beseech Thee, | to us who ask the grace of Thy most Divine love, | that with all our hearts, | words, | and works, | we may love Thee, | and never cease to praise Thee, | who livest and reignest, world without end. | Amen.
Priest: O Jesus, answer our petitions as we kneel before Thee.
People: O Heart of Jesus, hear and grant our prayers.
Priest and People: O loving Savior, | infinitely generous, | seeking only our interests, | from Thy Sacred Heart came those words of pleading love: | “Come to Me all you that labor and are burdened | and I will refresh you.” | Relying on this promise | of Thy infinite charity, we come to Thee | and in the lowliness of our hearts earnestly beg Thee | to grant us the favor | we ask | in this Novena (request to be made in silence.) But if what we ask is not for the glory of God | or the salvation of our souls, | do Thou grant us what is most conducive to both. | Amen.
Priest: O Jesus, answer our petitions as we kneel before Thee.
People: O Heart of Jesus, hear and grant our prayers.

LET US PRAY
Almighty and everlasting God, | look upon the Heart of Thy well-beloved Son | and upon the praise and satisfaction | which He offers unto Thee in the name of sinners; | and do Thou of Thy great goodness | grant them pardon when they seek Thy mercy, | in the name of the same Thy Son, | Jesus Christ, | Who liveth and reigneth with Thee for ever and ever. | Amen.
