Bl. Calimerius of Montechiaro, C.O.P.

Feast Day November 28th

Born: 1430 in Italy

Died: 1521 of natural causes in Italy

Patronage: Elderly, Infirmed

Blessed Calimerius of Montechiaro was born in Italy in 1430. He was a Dominican. He spent a long life preaching throughout Italy. When he was 90 years old and unable to walk or climb into the pulpit, parishioners lifted him into it so he could preach. He was supernaturally sustained during his sermons, and his strength would return for the duration of the preaching. Despite his extreme age and physical weakness, his voice remained powerful and resonant, a phenomenon attributed to divine assistance. He died 1521 of natural causes. Visiting his burial site or invoking his name granted relief to the elderly or infirm, mirroring his own triumph over physical frailty.
