canticle of mary
My soul proclaims your greatness, O my God,
and my spirit has rejoiced in your my Saviour;
For you have regarded me as your holy handmaid;
henceforth all generations shall call me blessed;
For you who are mighty, have done great things for me,
and Holy is your Name;
Your mercy is on those who fear you throughout all generations.
You have showed strength with your arm.
You have scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart.
You have put down the mighty from their seat,
and have lifted up the powerless.
You have filled the hungry with good things,
and have sent the rich away empty.
Remembering your mercy,
You have helped your people Israel –
As you promised Abraham and Sarah.
Mercy to their children forever.

act of consecration

O MOST august and blessed Virgin Mary, holy Mother of God, glorious Queen of heaven and earth, powerful protectress of those who love thee, and unfailing advocate of all who invoke thee, look down, I beseech thee, from thy throne of glory, on thy devoted child; accept the solemn offering I present thee of this month, specially dedicated to thee, and receive my ardent, humble desire, that by my love and fervor, I could worthily honor thee, who, next to God, art deserving of all honor. Receive me, O Mother of mercy! among thy best beloved children, extend to me thy maternal tenderness and solicitude, obtain for me a place in the Heart of Jesus, and a special share in the gifts of his grace. Oh, deign I beseech thee, to recognize my claims on thy protection, to watch over my spiritual and temporal interests, as well as those of all who are dear to me, to infuse into my soul the spirit of Christ, and to teach me thyself to become meek, humble, charitable, patient, and submissive to the will of God. May my heart burn with the love of thy divine Son, and of thee, his blessed Mother, not for a month alone, but for time and eternity may I thirst for the promotion of his honor and thine and contribute as far as I can to its extension. Receive me, O Mary, the Refuge of sinners! Grant me a Mother’s blessing and a Mother’s care, now and at the hour of my death. Amen.

O Glorious Virgin, ever blest,
All daughters of mankind above,
Who gavest nurture from thy breast
To God, with pure maternal love.
What man hath lost in hapless Eve,
The Blossom sprung from thee restores;
Thou to the sorrowing here beneath
Hast opened heaven’s eternal doors.
O gate, through which hath passed the King
The ransomed nations praise and sing
The Offspring of thy Virgin womb.
All honor, laud and glory be,
O Jesu, Virgin-born, to Thee:
All glory, as is ever meet,
To Father and to Paraclete. Amen.

Act of Reparation for Blasphemies against the Blessed Virgin Mary
Most glorious Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, turn shine eyes in pity upon us, miserable sinners; we are sore afflicted by the many evils that surround us in this life, but especially do we feel our hearts break within us upon hearing the dreadful insults and blasphemies uttered against thee, O Virgin Immaculate. O how these impious sayings offend the infinite Majesty of God and of His only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ! How they provoke His indignation and give us cause to fear the terrible effects of His vengeance! Would that the sacrifice of our lives might avail to put an end to such outrages and blasphemies; were it so, how gladly we should make it, for we desire, O most holy Mother, to love thee and to honor thee with all our hearts, since this is the will of God. And just because we love thee, we will do all that is in our power to make thee honored and loved by all men. In the meantime do thou, our merciful Mother, the supreme comforter of the afflicted, accept this our act of reparation which we offer thee for ourselves and for all our families, as well as for all who impiously blaspheme thee, not knowing what they say. Do thou obtain for them from Almighty God the grace of conversion, and thus render more manifest and more glorious thy kindness, thy power and thy great mercy. May they join with us in proclaiming thee blessed among women, the Immaculate Virgin and most compassionate Mother of God. Amen.

The Crown of Twelve Stars
St. John, the beloved disciple of Jesus and Mary, was privileged to behold a wonderful sign in Heaven: “A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon was under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.” This gave rise to the Crown of Twelve Stars devotion which Heaven has blessed with countless favors. St. John Berchmans made it his daily favorite.
This chaplet is prayed to honor each of those twelve stars as they symbolize her motherhood and queenship over all Israel, the twelve stars representing the 12 Tribes and the 12 Apostles. This devotion consists of 12 Aves — one for each star — broken up into 3 groups, each group representing an aspect of Mary’s virtues: excellence, power, and goodness.
Each group begins with an Our Father, and ends with a Glory Be. The entire Crown, then, is the praying of the following arrangement of prayers three times: 1 Our Father, 4 Hail Marys, 1 Glory Be
Let us offer praise and thanksgiving to the Most Holy Trinity, Who hath shown us the Virgin Mary, clothed with the sun, the moon between her feet, and on her head a mystic crown of twelve stars.
R. For ever and ever. Amen.
On the first large bead:
et us praise and thank the Divine Father, Who elected her for His daughter.
R. Amen. Our Father.
On the small bead:
Praised be the Divine Father, Who predestined her to be the Mother of His Divine Son.
R. Amen. Hail Mary.
On the small bead:
Praised be the Divine Father, Who preserved her from all stain in her conception.
R. Amen. Hail Mary.
On the small bead:
Praised be the Divine Father, Who adorned her at birth with His most excellent gifts.
R. Amen. Hail Mary.
On the small bead:
Praised be the Divine Father, Who gave her Saint Joseph to be her companion and most pure spouse.
R. Amen. Hail Mary and Gloria
On the next large bead:
Let us praise and thank the Divine Son, Who chose her for His mother.
R. Amen. Our Father.
On the small bead:
Praised be the Divine Son, Who became incarnate in her bosom and there abode for nine months.
R. Amen. Hail Mary.
On the small bead:
Praised be the Divine Son, Who was born of her and was nourished at her breast.
R. Amen. Hail Mary.
On the small bead:

R. Amen. Hail Mary.
On the small bead:
Praised be the Holy Ghost, by Whose operation she was at once Virgin and Mother.

On the small bead:
Praised be the Holy Ghost, by Whose power she was the living-temple of the ever-blessed Trinity.

PRAYER TO THE VIRGIN MOTHER OF GOOD COUNSEL

Most holy Virgin, seat of wisdom. Immaculate Mother of Good Counsel, all hail to thee, through whom the Blessed Trinity is adored! To thee, through whom Angels and Archangels are filled with gladness, through whom heaven exults, through whom demons are put to flight; I beseech thee mercifully to take me under thy powerful protection. By that gift of Counsel with which thy beloved Son enriched thee, instruct my ignorance, guard and keep me, thy poor helpless child. Look upon me, O Virgin Mother of Good Counsel, with an eye of pity. Be thou my light, my guide, my consolation. Forsake me not; give peace to my soul. Obtain for me the pardon of my sins, grace to imitate thy virtues, and a holy, happy death. O my tender Mother, at that tremendous hour, come and receive my soul, present it to the Sovereign Judge, and obtain for me a favorable sentence. I deserve not this grace; but I am thy child. I love thee, I desire to make all hearts love thee, O my amiable Queen, my Virgin Mother of Good Counsel. Amen.
PRAYER TO OUR BLESSED LADY OF LOURDES
O Immaculate, most pure Mother of God, model of all sweetness, hasten to the aid of thy wretched children: convert those who sin, give courage and patience to those who suffer. O most sweet, tender and holy Virgin, Queen of Lourdes, hear the cry of our misery and trouble-listen to the whisperings of thy maternal compassion and mercy whilst we cry: Merciful Lady of Lourdes, pray for us. Thou art our Mother—bequeathed to us from the cross, come therefore to our aid; come and cure us, covered as we are with the leprosy of sin. Humbly prostrate at thy feet, we consecrate ourselves to thee, O Lady of Lourdes—to thee we confide the direction of our lives. Be henceforward our hope and our strength, our consolation and our support—our joy and our love. And when we are about to appear before our Almighty Judge, may we repeat with our dying lips: Immaculate Mother, Queen of Lourdes, pray for us.

PRAYER TO THE MADONNA OF PERPETUAL SUCCOR
“Have confidence in me. I have suffered, I can therefore compassionate thy miseries. I am strong. I am able to assist thee. I am the Mother of Perpetual Succor.”
